Coops Show Off

Posted: Updated:

KX News along with other cooperatives throughout the state used today to say thank you to everyone for supporting them.

Today is KX Co-Op Day at the fair.

Telephone and electric cooperatives, credit unions and many other co-ops were involved today, handing out free gifts to anyone who stopped by.

Along with games to entertain the kids and some interesting inventions to peak the interest of the adults.

A free breakfast was held this morning and this afternoon there was as an ice cream social.

A member of a participating co-op believes today is a great way to say show the dedication the businesses have to their customers and community.

(Darrin Sand, McLean Electric Cooperative) "I think it just goes to show the commitment to the community the cooperatives have. The people that are here are our members, we serve them in some fashion. It's a good way for us to give back to the community and say thanks for being a member of ours."

It's almost here...The 2014-2015 school year is less than a month away, and districts around the region are trying to get a handle on just how many kids will come through the doors on that first day.
