Exhibit Hall Expansion Is Underway at Civic Center

Drive by the Bismarck Civic Center and you'll see a lot of big equipment and dirt being moved.

Crews started work this week, on the $27 million exhibit hall expansion.

Bismarck City Commissioner Parrell Grossman says this expansion will help attract more conventions to Bismarck.

"This expansion of our exhibit hall space is really going to take Bismarck to the next level in terms of our ability to attract conventions and to retain the conventions we currently have," Bismarck City Commissioner Parrell Grossman said.

The facility is expected to be complete by May of 2014 just in time for the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference.

After the conference, crews will make some final improvements during the summer months, before making it available for others to use sometime in August or September of 2014.
