Bismarck Parks and Rec's Park of the Week Event

Posted:
Bismarck, ND -

Bismarck Parks and Rec is wondering how many parks you can visit this summer.

With 48 parks in Bismarck alone, they've started a Park of the Week contest.

It's a way to get you to discover new parks.

You are encouraged to take photos or videos of you and or your kids playing at the featured location.

This week, Lions Park near Hillside Pool is the place to be.

The park has under gone major renovations with plans to expand the skate area.

"The roadways have changed, you can no longer drive your vehicle all the way up to the overlook. But we've maintained the trail that goes to the overlook and you can see the wonderful State Capitol up there. The disc golf course has been rearranged. The playgrounds are brand new. We have a magical kingdom playground by shelter #1 and another new playground by shelter #2." says Greg Smith.

The park of the week contest runs for 12 weeks.

You can check out the Bismarck Parks and Recreation website www.bisparks.org for more information.
