Minot Police are investigating a home burglary that took place Sunday while the homeowners were asleep in the house.

According to the report at 11:50 Sunday night police were called to 1625 6th Street Southeast for a report of a suspicious person attempting to break in.

When police arrived the suspect was gone, however the garage had been entered but it was unclear if anything was taken.

While authorities searched the area, they found property stolen property in a backyard a few houses down at 1629.

Police say that house was entered while the homeowners were asleep and took property and cash.

The incident remains under investigation.
