Apartment Complex Groundbreaking

Posted: Updated:

Ground was broken this afternoon on a 42 million dollar luxury apartment complex in northwest Minot.

When complete the North Highlands Apartments will include 239 units and will also feature underground parking, a theater, swimming pool, fitness facility and basketball court.

Former Governor Ed Schafer was a featured speaker at the groundbreaking.

Schafer says this type of investment in Minot and throughout the region is a clear indication of the longevity of the economic boom and the willingness of outside investors to make long term plans here.

(Ed Schafer, Former ND Governor & US Secretary of Agriculture) "As the culture becomes more permanent as the exciting discovery and energy boom in our state starts matching with the Agriculture prominence and strength that our state has had for so many years we're seeing that people and renters are starting to look for more permanent, high quality, amenities based facilities."

The complex is expected to be completed in 15 to 18 months.

Hegg Development Companies and The Bakken Select Fund are the two main principal investors in North Highland Apartments.
