Farm Road Meeting is Thursday

Posted: Updated:

Ward County road funds have been tied up in repairs over the past four years.

Dana Larsen says as needs change and funds stay the same,

some Farm-to-Market road repair projects in the county get moved around by priority.

Farm-to-Market road funding is made up of federal funds which varies by year but is usually around $650,000 and a 10 mill levee which generates around $2.8 million per year.

(Dana Larsen, Ward County Highway Engineer) "Typically we lay out what our five year plan is and show what we've been doing in the last year or two and where we're going and it also allows people to give their input and gives the public a chance to comment."

The Farm-to-Market public input meeting will be held on Thursday (August 1) at 6 p.m. in the Commissioner's Room at the Ward County Courthouse.

The powerpoint presentation is currently online for review.

If you are unable to attend the Farm-to-Market meeting, written statements or comments will be accepted through August 12th.

Visit the Ward County Highway Department website online, or call at 838-2810.
