Badlands Search Suspended

Posted: Updated:

The search for a missing Hillsboro man in the North Dakota Badlands has ended.

McKenzie County Sheriff John Fulwider says he has exhausted all resources and has called off the active search for Duncan Templar.

The 51-year-old has been missing since Saturday.

Templar told a family member that he planned to take his own life deep in the badlands after finding out he had cancer.

Authorities found his truck about twenty-two miles south of Watford City, but have been unable to locate him.

Templar is being treated as a missing person. The sheriff's office will continue to investigate the case.
