Homeless Help

Posted: Updated:

The fight against homelessness doesn't show any signs of slowing down in the Minot Area.

Homelessness is an issue that continues to grow here in Minot and the surrounding area.

The Minot Area Homeless Coalition reports that it receives 15-20 calls per day from Minot area residents asking for assistance.

One of the main issues causing the escalation in homelessness is housing costs.

Karrie Libke of the Minot Area Homeless Coalition says one of the ways to help fight homelessness is getting the entire community involved.

Karrie Libke, Administrative Assistant, Minot Area Homeless Coalition)"The needs are growing. They're not going to stop--it's going to keep growing, unfortunately, and the only way we can combat that is to get more and more funding to support that."

The Coalition is hosting a Walk and Run this Saturday at Oak Park with registration at 7:30.

The walk is open to anyone who wishes to take part.
