4H Achievement Days at Morton County Fair

Posted: Updated:

New Salem was filled with the sounds of sheep, goats, and pigs this morning at the 53rd Annual Morton County Fair.

Today is 4H Livestock Achievement Day.

Kids were excited to show off their animals.

This is Jenna Schaff's first year showing pigs.

To prepare for the show, she had to wash, clip, and brush them.

Although this was only Jenna's first year, she was proud to be awarded reserve champion in showmanship.

"It looked fun and I wanted to just give it a try and it was a fun experience just getting to show them," says Jenna Schaff.

The fair began August 1st and goes through the 4th.
