California Man Rides Through N.D. Attempting to Set World Record

Posted:

The end of his record breaking ride is in sight.

Bob Burlison is on his way to holding the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous motorcycle ride within one country.

North Dakota is his 44rd state since leaving on the trek May 27th.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem signed Burlison's witness log, one of the Guinness World Record requirements.

Burlison should break the record of 11,201 miles Wednesday when he continues his travels west.

<< "I'm gonna do it somewhere outside of Billings and before Missoula. I have a cigar back here and when that fat lady sings, I'm going to start the cigar. When I hit 11,201 miles I will pull over and I'm going to light the cigar.">>

On his travels, Burlison has hit 51 Kiwanis meetings.

He is using his ride to encourage young people to get involved in service groups.

But his main goal of this journey is to support the Eliminate project a global campaign by Kiwanis.

The group wants to raise $110 million to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus world wide by selling raffle tickets.
