Tens of Millions of dollars in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery money is one step closer for the city of Minot and possible some flood victims.
The city has posted its "Action Plan" for the second allocation of the funds to their website,
and is looking for your input on the way the money will be spent.
The Disaster Relief funds will be split up into three different areas which include fixing roads that were flooded, home acquisitions and reimbursements to homeowners who fit the eligibility requirements.
Those who qualify could be reimbursed up to ten thousand dollars.
City of Minot Finance Director, Cindy Hemphill, says it's important for Minot residents to understand what's in the plan and speak up if they have ideas.
(Cindy Hemphill, City of Minot Finance Director) "It is important that we have the public's comments that is affected by this and to see if they are in agreement with how the funds are going to be spent or not, so all those comments are incorporated into the action plan before it's sent off to HUD for approval."
The action plan is available by going to the city website cdbg.minotnd.org.
Any suggestions should be submitted to email@example.com. or comment cards can be filled out and returned to various locations including the Minot City Hall.
The deadline to submit your comment is August 19th.
