The Roosevelt Park Zoo has come a long way since the 2011 flood and today they brought back one more event since then.
The Senior Safari kicked off this morning and gave seniors a chance to tour the zoo grounds.
Admission was free for anyone 55 years of age or older.
Besides browsing through the zoo, seniors also had a picnic during the event.
Greater Minot Zoological Society coordinator, Staci Kenney, helped organize the event and says the zoo is a great way for seniors to enjoy Minot.
(Staci Kenney, GMZS Coordinator)"There's times when it's hard to get everybody out here at once and to offer that up to the retirement homes and assisted living homes, to get everybody out here together and just be able to walk around--do it at your own pace."
The Zoo partnered with Trinity Health and the Minot Commission on Aging to sponsor the safari.

In addition, both had recently been released from state prison.
