Current and future civic leaders of Minot met today to learn and discuss ways to make their city better at the Engage in Success Workshop.
Minot Area Community Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and Dale Carnegie Business Group of North Dakota came together today for civic engagement.
Dozens were in attendance to learn how to become more active in the community and the importance of becoming proactive.
Owners and presidents of Minot businesses gave motivational speeches on ways to become leaders in the community.
President of Minot Chamber of Commerce, John MacMartin, says the best way a person can become involved is to decide what he or she is passionate about.
(John MacMartin, President, Minot Area Chamber of Commerce) "What we need to do is channel the energy, engage the energy and get people to become part of something. What they choose as engagement doesn't matter, it is the fact that they get engaged to help make a difference in their own community."
MacMartin believes the day was a successful one.
He adds he would like to bring a large group like the one today together to discuss other ways to make Minot better.
