Cancer Center Hosts Drive to Survive Race

Posted:

Colorful race cars lined the parking lot of the Bismarck Cancer Center today...all for a good cause.

This evening, drivers are taking part in the Drive to Survive stock car races at Dacotah Speedway to raise cancer awareness.

A meet and greet was held giving drivers the opportunity to meet people in the community and sign autographs.

Mike Nelson has been racing all his life and he says his two sons are eager to follow in his footsteps.

"The fact that I put this car together, I built it, my family has helped me along the way, and it's something that we can do together. It's a family affair," says Mike Nelson.

The stock car races begin at 7pm this evening.

All proceeds are donated to the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.
