Last night the North Dakota Highway patrol conducted a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint in Williston.
Checkpoint was located at the junction of East Dakota Bypass and 26th Street East.
Taking place from 8pm to 10 PM.
Highway Patrol along with the Williston Police Department and the Williams COunty Sheriffs Department stopped approximately 280 motorists, evaluated 8 drivers, and arrested 2 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Highway Patrol would also be conducting a sobriety checkpoint this Saturday in a predetermined location in Ward County and will take place during the evening hours.
The Highway Patrol says the purpose of the DUI checkpoints is to deter drunk drivers.
