Coming soon: Bismarck to Orlando -- nonstop.

Starting November 23rd, Allegiant will run two flights each week to the sunshine state.  Orlando is the fourth most popular destination for passengers from Bismarck -- only Las Vegas, Phoenix and Denver are more so.

The new route will have 177 seats on flights departing Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Total flight time: three hours, 45 minutes.

In an effort to attract new airport services and better serve customers, the Bismarck City Commission says they recently approved an airport incentive package, including a one-year airport cost fee waiver for Allegiant, amounting to approximately $40,000.

" I frequently get asked about, when people look at, when they measure a community or take stock in a community, is 'what kind of airline service do you have?' This is just part of our continued commitment on behalf of the City Commission and Bismarck Airport to offer incentives to airlines for new routes and service since 2004," says Parrell Grossman, Commissioner, Bismarck City Commission.

Allegiant is offering a $99 introductory rate for a limited time.  Ultimately, prices are expected to run between $200 and $400 for a roundtrip ticket.

In other airport news, beginning September 9, 2013, Frontier Airlines will now depart in the morning from the Bismarck Airport and return in the evening, versus departing and arriving mid-day.
