10 Mile Run Benefits Wounded Veterans

Posted:

Papa's Pumpkin Patch may not be full of pumpkins quite yet, but this morning, it was full of runners.

This is the first annual North Dakota National Guard Aviation Association 10 mile road race.

All proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

This organization works with veteran soldiers wounded in combat.

Jerry Anderson and his fellow soldiers came up with the idea for this 10 mile race and says they wanted to give something back to their veterans.

"We're just most excited to get a chance to showcase the Wounded Warrior Project and what they do for soldiers and also just to build a little comradery with the civilian populous here and get people out and enjoy the morning," says Jerry Anderson, Organizer of 10 mile race.

Awards are given to the top male and female finishers in each age category.
