Today, the sky outside of Minot is filled with miniature, but not small, model aircrafts, for the 33rd Annual International Fun Fly.
The Fun Fly is a time where people from Minnesota, Montana, South Dakota, and Canada can come to Minot to show their skills in flying, or even learn how.
The 3 day weekend consists of teaching techniques of flying miniature aircraft models with radio control systems.
These models can go miles from their hand held controller, and the editor of Minot Aircraft Modelers says, they usually take years to master.
But age 8 or 78, doctor, or contractor-- no matter your age or profession, he says you can be taught the skills.
This may seem like a extra-curricular hobby to most of us, but to this group of flyers, it's a lifestyle.
(Roger Harper, Minot Aircraft Modelers Editor) "It's one of the things I do that adds the most fun in my life. I even go to bed dreaming about flying model airplanes. It's challenging, it's exhilarating, and it's the thrill of flying."
