Eagle Scout Project on Display at Railroad Museum

Posted: Updated:

To gain eagle scout status, boy scout Casey Wieland had to do some work for the community.

He chose to build a replica of a 1910 Bunk House.

It has taken him around one year to get it this far along, and with the help of a friend's dad, he is nearly finished.

The project will help him in his journey to becoming an eagle scout.

"I'll be pretty happy, I'll be able to bring my kids back and look at this, say I did that for an Eagle Scout project, being an Eagle that will mean a lot." says Casey Wieland

The Bunk House is stationed at the Railroad Museum in Mandan.

Despite the heat, dozens of families turned out to see all of the railroad-related sights.

There are locomotives to check out big and small.

One of the most popular things to see of course is the mini steam engine.

Check out these cute passengers holding on tight!

The Railroad Museum closes for the season on Labor Day.
