A Texas man is sentenced for his role in the robbery of a bank in New England...
Johnner Ward, jr was sentenced this morning in U.S. Federal Court for bank robbery and use of a firearm in a crime of violence.
Ward and another man, Colt Schneider held up American Bank Center in New England, North Dakota in October.
Ward was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.
He had pleaded guilty to the crime in February and agreed to testify against Schneider.
Schneider was convicted by a jury last week.
He will be sentenced in November.
In court, it was revealed that Ward had attempted to escape from the Stutsman County jail where he was being held pending his sentencing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Hagler says the foiled escape was discovered in June.
He says Ward and his cell mate had cut through a bar in a window and broke the window.
