Plans for a new airport terminal in Minot got a big boost today as the federal government promised 6-and-a-half million dollars for the project.
Senator John Hoeven announced the Federal Aviation Administration has approved a discretionary grant of 6-and-a-half million dollars.
He says it'll be a big help in making the 41-million dollar project happen.
(Sen. John Hoeven, ND) "We've got about 25 million between state and federal dollars now for construction. We'll have to get the balance next year but with our construction cycle it's very important they get going so now they can go forward, build the new terminal they really need. Like I say they are overcrowded in a big way with the additional flights they have coming in they really need it and the need to get going now."
Hoeven says this federal money means construction can begin this fall on the new terminal for Minot's airport.
