North Dakota Senator Weighs In On Syria

Posted: Updated:

It was a working holiday for the White House and certain Congressman after President Obama's announcement he would seek authorization before launching missiles against Syria over its use of chemical weapons.  Two high-profile GOP Senators, John McCain and Lindsay Graham, are already on-board with the President.

One North Dakota Senator is not so sure.

"I think there's a lot of members of Congress that unless we see a plan that can be effective that is limited that keeps us out of an ongoing civil war, I think it's going to be very hard to win approval," notes Senator John Hoeven (R-ND).

The Senator says at this point he is not onboard.  He's concerned about the difficulty of the situation -- and the necessity of getting it right.

Senator Hoeven says the Administration needs to make a better case to Congress, the American people and U.S. allies.
