Students Run for Fun at Apple Dash

Posted: Updated:

It's the 7th annual Apple Dash.

The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation hosts the event at Hughes Field every year to benefit the local school system and keep families active together.

This year's Apple Dash is partnering with Team Myla to raise money for any student or staff who may need help with medical costs.

Team Myla was organized last spring to support Myla Wescom, a long time special education teacher, in her battle against cancer.

Lots of youngsters are also helping out with the cause, while having a lot of fun.

Here's a look at the "mini apple quest" obstacle course for kids five and under.

Instead of running for several miles, these little girls and guys have to overcome several obstacles on a race around Hughes Field.

Luckily a cross country runner was leading the pack in case anyone got lost or distracted.

And you can hear by these little guys running through the tunnel, that this obstacle course is a lot of work!

Everyone who participated today did get a ribbon.
