Westhope Man to Admit Murder

Posted: Updated:

A Westhope man charged with murder in the shooting death of another Westhope man is scheduled to admit guilt this week.

Court officials say 49-year-old Timothy Mundt will change his plea to guilty to Class Double-A Murder in district court tomorrow.

Mundt was arrested about a week after 40-year-old Jessie Kirk was last seen in Westhope on February 5th.

Kirk's body was found on February 7th, and Mundt was arrested a few days later.

Mundt pleaded not guilty to the Class Double-A Murder charge in April in Northeast District Court in Bottineau.

But prosecutor Swain Benson says Mundt will be in court again tomorrow to change his plea to guilty in the case.

Judge Michael Sturdevant is expected to sentence Mundt tomorrow.
