Williston Road Update

Posted: Updated:

As summer comes to a close, so too do many road construction projects throughout the state.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation announced the completion of some projects in the western portion of the state.

The overlay on Highway 50 from the state line to Grenora, the overlay on US Highway 2 from the state line to the junction of US 85 and the paving of US 85 south of Watford city are three such projects.

While those projects are complete, several others remain, such as the four lane project along US 85 from Watford City to Williston.

The first phase of that project is tentatively scheduled for fall of 2014.

With all of the construction around the state, the D-O-T would like to remind people of the importance of driver safety.

Katie Pizza, Public Information Officer, DOT) "I would encourage people, with the record amount of construction that is taking place, to be careful driving through construction zones, to be aware of the other vehicles and to practice safe driving."

For more information about construction projects, you can simply call 5-1-1 or visit the North Dakota Department of Transportation website.
