Oil production in the Bakken continues to grow, so what better place to hold an oil convention but right in the heart of oil country.
Third annual Bakken Oil Products and Service show in Williston took place this week.
The two day event is a way for those in oil and gas related fields to come together.
Attendance has grown in each of the expos three years.
The first year about 700 people attended, last year nearly 1,800, and while there was no official count, officials expected this year to have an even better turn out.
Which is why the expo was moved to a larger venue at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds
Jeff Zarling works for the company hosting the event, he says with the number of people at the show, it's like cramming six months of networking in two days.
(Jeff Zarling, Dawa Solutions Group) "There are so many new companies in the Williston basin and specifically within Williston. Tom Rolfstad with economic development talks about 4 to 500 service companies based right here in Williston... so it's an opportunity for them to see who's here and connect and conduct business and solve the problems they have out in the oil field."
