Lower Property Taxes for Mandan

Posted: Updated:

Residential property taxes are going down in Mandan.

For an existing property valued at $200,000, taxes should be $48 lower.  However, that savings is offset by water and sewer utility rates increasing by about $42 per year.

It's all part of the City's 26.8 million dollar budget for 2014, approved tonight.  The budget also includes four new police officers, a warrants officer and four fire fighters.

City officials told KX News Mandan's revenues will be up in 2014 -- largely due to increasing sales tax collection and state aid distributions.
