Play Area Unveiled at Dakota Square

Posted: Updated:

A new animal-themed play area will provide some fun at the mall for even the youngest of shoppers.

The Dakota Square mall recently opened it new children's play area located on the JCPenney court.

The area is open to all children and contains zoo-themed equipment including zebra, alligator and giraffe play pieces.

The play area was created under a partnership between the mall and the Roosevelt Zoo.

Scheels served as one of the main sponsors along with other participating "Friends of Zoo" sponsors.

A portion of the sponsorship funds will also go to Roosevelt Park Zoo to support rebuilding efforts.

One Dakota Square official says the two entities are a good match for a partnership.

(Mike Lisagor, Dakota Square Mall Manager)"What better way for a mall to tie in with anybody other than a zoo. It correlates directly with the children, it's perfect for what we try to bring to the shopping experience as well. So it just seemed like a perfect fit.

The play area is open during all mall hours.
