Posted: Updated:

Milestones are being met for Minot State University as they celebrate their centennial year.

Today, they combined those festivities with homecoming week events as well.

A block party in front of Old Main,

with an estimated 2,500 alumni, and other members of the community showing up to support the university.

Games for children, live music, free lunch, and many more activities were going on for those who attended today's festivities.

Minot State also held homecoming activities, with homecoming week starting this Monday.

The president of MSU, David Fuller, says getting so much support from the community makes the centennial celebration that much better.

David Fuller, MSU President) "When I see people come, what it shows me and tells me is that people believe in us. They believe in what we do in the community and that makes me feel that much better; that we succeeded."

(Teresa Loftesnes, MSU Director of Marketing) "Just seeing everyone having a great time; I'm proud of Minot State University. Wow. This is just so fabulous. We're very very thankful."
