Texting and Driving Awareness

Posted: Updated:

A group of Minot High School students are hoping a student-produced video will help warn their peers about the dangers of texting and driving.

Family Careers Community Leaders of America, or FCCLA, is the student organization behind the campaign.

The students took a hands-on approach by staging a texting and drivng scenario and capturing the moment through a series of pictures

The students then edited the photos into a 30-second video to be played on monitors at Magic City Campus.

One project leader says the video can help drive home the message the students are trying to convey.

(Serene Louis, MHS Junior)"We believe that we can let people know what's going on around our society today and how it causes accidents and people to just be aware of what's happening."

The students are hoping to create a larger audience for the video by taking it to a national competition.
