Youth for Christ - Back to the Rock

Posted: Updated:

With "The Rock" getting flooded out in 2011, Minot Youth for Christ began to dwindle.

And now, 2 years later, the group is finally getting their stomping grounds back.

The building known as "The Rock" is the meeting place for members of Youth for Christ in Minot.

And when it was devastated by the flood, numbers began to drop from over 100 members in 2011, to only 15 in 2013.

Kay Eaton says "The Rock" is not just a place for bible study, but somewhere to do homework or hang out with friends after school.

So, after 2 years of construction, the new and improved Rock is almost complete, and with hopes that Youth for Christ in Minot can grow again.

(Kay Eaton, Chair of Youth for Christ Board) "It's like a whole new chapter in our life. We're starting anew. Not just from the number standpoint, but everything's new in here. It's like a new life again. This is the embodiment of Youth for Christ for the youth. They are so excited to be back into their place."

"The Rock" is still undergoing some final construction, and is estimated to be done by the end of fall.
