Pre-Kindergarten Standards For North Dakota

Posted:

New standards are now in place for North Dakota preschoolers before they start kindergarten.

For the past few years pre-school teachers and early learning educators across the state have been asking for a common foundation to help four and five year olds learn.

The new standards are expectations of what kids need to know by the end of pre-school, before they start Kindergarten.

<<"There are nine different domains with the theme of play running through all of them, so it addresses mathematics, it addresses early literacy but woven all the way through it is the foundation of learning through play," Early Childhood Administrator Tara Bitz said.>>
