Budget Hearing is Tomorrow

Posted: Updated:

The Ward County budget for 2014 is on the verge of being passed, but there's still some time to share your thoughts.

Tomorrow evening is a public hearing on the county budget.

The budget does not show an increase on the county's portion of property taxes, however your property tax bill includes school, city and park department spending as well.

The county's final budget will be approved tomorrow or October 1st.

Ward County Auditor and treasurer Devra Smestad says early participation is important for anyone with questions about the proposed budget.

(Devra Smestad, Ward County Auditor/Treasurer)"Here's their chance to hear about it, learn more about it or to ask their questions up front, instead of waiting to get their tax statement and then wait to come in and ask the questions."

The public hearing is tomorrow evening at 7:00 at the Ward County Courthouse in the commissioners room.
