The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe elects a chairman by a slim margin.

Wednesday's unofficial results show Dave Archambault, Jr. winning the election over Mike Faith by 131 votes--1038 to 907.

Archambault worked at United Tribes as director of the Workforce DeManND program.

His inauguration takes place in early October.

Archambault replaces Charles Murphy who is retiring after serving in Standing Rock government since 1981. He was tribal chair for twenty-two years.
