USS North Dakota Nears Completion

The USS North Dakota is one step closer to being finished.

The boat is currently being tested to make sure it's ready to take out on the water.

In November a christening event will be held.

Then in May the boat will be commissioned and will be turned over to the U.S. Government and will patrol the seas to help keep our country safe.

"What's really exciting about the boat is it's nuclear powered, so it will actually be in service for 33 years without having the need to refuel, so after the 33 years is up then they'll decommission the boat and dismantle it and so maybe at that point we'll get a small piece sent back to the state for memorabilia," Dot Frank with the USS North Dakota Committee said.
