Mandan Hosts First Annual Oktoberfest

Posted:

For those of you North Dakotans with German heritage...

you'll feel right at home at the First Annual Oktoberfest in Mandan.

All ages gather in the crisp fall weather to enjoy the day at Dykshoorn Park.

There's plenty to do to keep you busy from 11am to 11pm.

Family activities and contests, live music, and crafts will put you in the holiday spirit.

And you can't forget the food.

From knoephla soup to cheese buttons to fleischkuekla...Oktoberfest is sure to leave you saying "oof-dah."

"We thought with all of our German heritage in the community and really all of North Dakota that it would be fun to celebrate that and bring an Oktoberfest to Mandan," says Ellen Huber, Volunteer with Mandan Progress Organization.

You still have until 11pm tonight to get down and enjoy the event.

There's a five dollar admission and ages 12 and under are free.
