Hope Village Nearing End of Mission

Hope Village Nearing End of Mission

Posted: Updated:

Hope Village set a goal to renovate over 500 homes affected by the 2011 flood waters.

Through the work of teams from all across the country, the mission is nearing completion.

About 40 homes are still in need of repair.

Volunteers will continue to work on those homes through the month of October.

However, after October 31st Hope Village will be closed.

If fact, Hope Village is in the process of condensing the campus to prepare for the deadline.

Hope Village Director Paul Krueger says efforts will be made to carry on the organization's legacy.

(Rev. Paul Krueger, Hope Village Director)"Much of the equipment, much of the expertise that we've put in place will be available for regional disaster response through the Lutheran Missouri Church Senate, our national church body here, and working with our partners."

After the October 31st deadline, Lutheran Disaster Response will manage the remaining work left on flood homes during the upcoming months.
