Hall of Fame Inductees

Posted: Updated:

Another Norsk Hostfest's arrival means another class is about to enter the Scandinavian American Hall of Fame.

Music will be a strong theme this year.

And a 'first-family' of music you might say is about to be enshrined.

Ricky Nelson is a face and voice known across the globe.

His music and silver screen career is well known by millions...

His entire family however is being inducted.

That includes his parents -- Ozzie and Harriet -- his brother David -- and now his sons Matthew and Gunnar.

Those two will be performing daily at Hostfest a show called 'Ricky Nelson Remembered' -- a tribute to their father, who was called by Life Magazine the first "teen idol".

(Matthew Nelson - Performing at Hostfest) "I mean at the time, he had the number one television show, the number one song in the country, and the number one movie with 'Rio Bravo' with John Wayne and Dean Martin and stuff...it hasn't happened since. It is kind of hard to imagine it. Back in those times it was basically Elvis and Ricky." (Gunnar Nelson - Performing at Hostfest) "So many people feel like they are a part of our family. So many feel like they grew up with our family next door and they tuned in every single week...and they did that at a time when television was brand new so when America tuned into 'Ozzie and Harriet' they really did."

Matthew and Gunnar gained fame themselves after forming the band Nelson in the early 90s -- recording the hit "Can't Live Without Your Love and Affection".
