Future leaders compete in Center for a chance to qualify for State.
More than 200 FFA members from 10 different chapters in western North Dakota are competing in District Leadership.
Demonstration, memorized public speaking and parliamentary procedure are just a few of the competitions.
(Brian Richardson / Hebron FFA Chapter) "I've gotten a lot of experience and I've made lots of friends and I've had a great time learning and for all the time we have spent practicing parliamentary procedure, we will hopefully get a gold and make it to state."
Lindsey Anderson is a national FFA officer from California.
In her past year of office she's traveled roughly 120-thousand miles, to 40 different states, helping out with numerous FFA events like today's contest in Center.
(Lindsey Anderson / National FFA Officer) I think the thing that is most unique about what we get to do as national officers is simply the diversity. Not only the diversity in our nation, but in our students, and our members across the nation. Just getting to meet with various students and to see their projects that they are doing in FFA and seeing how they have really gotten to grow as people has been really neat."
There are more than 4,700 FFA members in North Dakota.
Roughly 800 members are competition in district leadership contests across the state this week.
