It took a little more than a year from ground breaking -- to official opening here at Cash Wise Foods in Minot. Located on 16th as a main tenant in Southgate Crossing, this is the latest Cash Wise to open in western and central North Dakota. Watford City recently had an opening...and new stores are being constructed in Stanley and Tioga now. The opening brings competition to the grocery store market in Minot...something mayor Curt Zimbelman said yesterday has been a constant request for year. Now it is here...and the company COO says what they offer could feel a bit new.

(Bob Thueringer - Coburn's COO) "We do operate a little bit different type of supermarket. It is a warehouse store environment. We have some pillars when we talk about maintaining a low price image and having a large variety of product. The consumers in Minot will find us to be priced competitive and to have good variety and most important, to be clean and friendly in terms of how we treat people."

Cash Wise Foods is a based out of St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Next to Cash Wise, petco has now officially opened its doors. Pet supplies, pet products, pet food...and even pets! Its the animal lover's mecca you might say. petco will be celebrating with a grand opening weekend, kicking off tomorrow and running through Sunday. The Minot location also offers grooming, dog training...and get this -- mud baths for your pet.

Also in Minot along 13th Street SE, a new facility is in the construction phase...but what is it? In a few months this will be the latest home for Sunprairie Grain. Also under the same roof will be Dakota Agronomy, a partner with Sunprairie Grain. General Manager Brad Haugaberg says bringing people under one roof will enhance service for customers...and make the day-to-day decision making process much easier. The hope is to have this building completed later this fall.
