The old Home Depot parking lot is filling up as another new business claims its space.  Right next to Evangel Church a Marriott Courtyard is beginning to take shape.  The newest addition to Bismarck's hotel inventory will be four stories high with 111 rooms.  A September 2014 opening is planned.

While the sign has been up for a while, there's finally some action on the site of another soon-coming Bismarck hotel.  A new Holiday Inn is set for 3903 State Street.  It will be four stories high with 89 rooms.  Anticipated opening is slated for Spring of 2014.

As two hotels are going up in Bismarck, one is coming down in Mandan.  Assets of the Rivertree Inn in Mandan on The Strip were auctioned yesterday by new owner, Randy Rhone.  He's wasting no time readying the property as demolition is underway today.  Replacing the Inn will be a 40,000 square foot shopping center with a food court including national chain restaurants, as well as retail and office space.

Two agents join to start an independent agency that's part of a Fargo company's expansion to Bismarck.  "I started here August 1st.  I decided to take my experience of ten years, being with other agencies starting at the bottom and working my way up to the top and making a full career out of it," says Heidi Rue, Agent at Superior Insurance.

Superior Insurance offers everything from auto to flood insurance.  The agents at Superior want you to know due to the government shutdown, processing applications for flood insurance could take a bit longer, which might delay your home loan, since lenders require flood insurance in high-risk areas.  Check out their Facebook page for more insurance information.

Watch for a Dicky's Barbeque Pit coming to Mandan next to the building going up by Spirit of Life Church.
