Boys Show Support With Pink Hair Makeover

Posted: Updated:

A group of six young boys walks into a salon to get their hair done.

They don't what everyone else is getting, they want to stand out.

A major highlight for the month of October.

They might be the youngest clients to make such a dramatic request, but six young boys are getting extreme makeovers at the salon.

If they have dark hair, they first have to get it lightened.

As soon as everyone is blonde, it's time to take it one step further and think pink.

After six years of decorating the salon pink every October, the Euphoria Salon and Spa owner's son and his friends wanted to get on board.

"It actually started with my eight-year-old son who said, you know mom I would dye my hair pink if some of my friends would do it with me..." says Candace Smith, Owner.

Although they're young, they seem to be aware of what the month of October is all about.

"For breast cancer awareness month, we're doing it for all the people who died and all the people that are trying to survive through it." says Aidon.

"They're all very excited and they understand what the meaning is about, that makes it even more exciting, because usually boys don't like pink..." says Sammy Tuhy, Jackson's mom.

Sammy's son Jackson wants to wear pink for someone close to his heart.

"His grandma has battled cancer and he's just showing his support for not only for his grandma but everyone else who has battled it, or know someone who has." says Tuhy.

"It's really brave for these boys to do this, and it just shows their confidence." says Smith.

Confidence with pink hair.

A simple act of showing support, that's always a great look.

Stylists say the pink hair can last for a week to a month, depending on how often it gets washed.
