Today, the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce looked back on a year's worth of developments with its 90th annual meeting.
The Chamber of Commerce had plenty to celebrate with 67 ribbon cuttings in the past year.
Keeping on the topic of growth, the Chamber of Commerce invited Basin Electric Power Cooperative's Mike Eggl as the keynote speaker for the afternoon.
Eggl says the area's future development and growth both place a demand on services--including electrical needs.
It is a change that Basin Electric is preparing for.
(Mike Eggl, Basin Electric Power Cooperative)"Within the next ten to 15 years, we're going to see load growth increase at a doubling of almost every six years. What does that mean? It means that we're going to need to find power equivalent to the largest power plant in North Dakota, currently."
New chair of the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, Randy Hauck, says he's feeling positive about Minot's future growth.
