Parents and students enjoy a healthy start to the day---together.
This morning Pioneer Elementary Students are celebrating National Walk to School Day.
After getting some extra exercise, both parents and kids get the chance to enjoy activities and a healthy breakfast.
Kurt Weinberg / Pioneer Physical Education Teacher: "Walk to school days has a couple of purposes is to build community for our school, but also so the kids have a safe route to school and parents get to see that and spend some time with their kids in the morning. Kinda have a soft landing and a nice start with their kids."
And it takes a lot of helping hands to make this early morning a success.
Zoe Kyes / 5th Grader: "I got here at 6:25, and I set up all the snack and the coffee."
(Nick Burgess / 5th Grader) "We are trying to get people to walk and get exercise and eat nutritious foods.">>
