Congressional Delegation and Governor Host 7th Annual Energy Conference

Posted:

Our state continues to be an energy leader.

Speakers from all across the nation gather at the 7th Annual Great Plains and EmPower North Dakota Energy Conference.

This day long conference with an impressive agenda highlights opportunities, cutting edge technology, innovations, and challenges our state's energy industries face.

Attendees hear national experts' perspectives on how to better our energy economy as well as input from our own officials.

"Now we're embarking on the development of a new resource in our oil industry. It brings challenges to be sure, but we've been there before. There are no challenges North Dakotans cannot together overcome," says ND Attorney General, Wayne Stenehjem."

And it's not just our oil industry that North Dakotans are focused on.

Speakers provide insights on achieving a sensible national energy policy that allows the use of traditional fuels as well as other renewable resources.

"Wind to coal to oil and gas, even bio diesel and bio fuels with our agriculture sector. So I think this conference reinforces that. That we're on the right track in trying to develop all of these rather than focusing on just one. Our country needs all of them. All of them create opportunities for people in different industries and all the support industries for that," says Julie Fedorchak, ND Public Service Commissioner.

Amidst the wide array of topics there, officials, above all, want to work together to ensure affordable energy costs for citizens.
