The affidavit from the arresting officer says Baumgartner stabbed Christian Boen with a Machete with an 11-and-a-half inch blade.
Boen required more than a dozen stitches to his wounds - he's been released from the hospital.
Investigators say Baumgartner stabbed Boen while Boen was sitting in Baumgartner's pickup.
The state's attorney says the case revolves around an argument over a truck being either borrowed or stolen.
Bond for Baumgartner was set at 250-thosuad dollars.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 18th.
