It can be a difficult time when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, but one Minot family is rallying together to support someone very close to them.
This Sunday from eight AM to one PM, at Burlington Elementary School, family and friends of Tracy Varner will be hosting a benefit to raise money for her.
The benefit will include a pancake breakfast, silent auction and bake sale.
On September 7th, Tracy Varner was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer.
She is currently receiving extensive chemo and will do so through the rest of the year.
Some time in the beginning of the year she will have a bone marrow transplant.
Tracy's brother Jeremy, says his sister is keeping spirits high during the difficult time.
(Jeremy Burkhart, Brother) "It's been overwhelming on the support we have been getting with items for the silent auction and people wanting to help work and donations. It's going to be a really great thing for Tracy just so she doesn't have to worry about money. We can try and raise some money for her and help her out so she can concentrate one getting better."
Tracy has been receiving her treatment at the University of Minnesota and has not been able to leave the hospital for the past month.
