MSU Open House

Posted: Updated:

Due to teacher conferences, students are enjoying a nice long weekend.

Some students are taking advantage of their off time by looking towards the future.

Throughout Minot State's campus, group tours were being given to prospective high school student's for the universities Fall Open House.

Along with a tour, counselors sit down with students to discuss possible scholarship and financial aid packages.

Fall preview days, allows potential incoming students a chance to see what campus life is like at MSU and whether or not the university is right for them.

(Derek Van Dyke, Admissions Counselor) "Some people like the smaller schools, some people like the larger schools. They will know where they fit when they tour a couple different campuses. They kind of feel a sense of belonging there.Getting them out and going visiting other colleges is what we encourage all our students to do."

(Brooklyn Garnett, Junior, East Grand Forks) "I think it's really important to see the campus and to get a different idea. Rather than going to one campus and being like, 'oh, this is the one I want to go to'. It's better to have an idea of other campuses."

Brooklyn is part of the Outward Bound Tour, a group of students who travel to different campuses around the state.

Tomorrow the group will be going to the University of Mary.
