Legislative Leader Visits

Posted: Updated:

A North Dakota Legislative leader recently appeared in front of a Minot committee to talk about what he called the big picture.

North Dakota Legislative Senator from Grand Forks, Ray Holmberg, spoke at the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee meeting.

While Senator Holmberg was the featured speaker, the committee also had a chance to ask questions and offer insight.

During the discussion, Senator Holmberg covered topics including the North Dakota legislature and the state budget.

(Ray Holmberg, Grand Forks Senator)"Four sessions ago, we weren't spending money, general fund money, on roads. Now we're opening 1.6 billion on highway construction in the state."

Holmberg also touched on higher education.

He says later in the future, the interim higher education committee plans to visit Minot State University.H

It's almost here...The 2014-2015 school year is less than a month away, and districts around the region are trying to get a handle on just how many kids will come through the doors on that first day.
