Horror on Harmon House Set to Horrify for 13th Year

Posted: Updated:

All the dead leaves are the least scary-looking thing at one yard in Bismarck.

It's the 13th year of Horror on Harmon, andluck has nothing to do with how horrifying it is.

"That's what we say, we say 13 is unlucky but you don't know the half of it." says Thomas Braun, Horror on Harmon Homeowner.

It's the 13th year that Thomas Braun has decorated his lawn for Halloween.

The Horror on Harmon spectacle has grown every year with new full size additions stopping traffic in the residential area.

"The other night I was standing out here and 20 cars came by slowly, people are looking at it." says Braun.

It's pretty eye-catching, especially if you like the holiday.

"The Griswold Christmas, this is the Halloween for the Braun's I guess."

The Braun family starts decorating Labor Day weekend to draw people in early for Halloween night.

"They'll see the new things in the yard, that's all they'll see up until Halloween, then on Halloween, the spirits come alive if you will." says Braun.

We don't want to give anything away, but if you're brave enough to walk through the haunted backyard on Halloween night, you'll see for yourself what's shaking in the shacks.

"We've been to professional ones around the state, but we feel we can compete with them, even though they're much bigger."

70 plus volunteers help out with the frightfest, a lot of work just for one night of fun.

"It's like going on a roller coaster, people get that same adrenaline rush going down a roller coaster, we get it from scaring people and we see the reaction as they're running down the driveway." he says.

The Horror on Harmon is for Halloween night only.

It starts at six o'clock for younger people, then at seven it's for people 12 and older and goes until ten o'clock at night.

You can like them on Facebook to see more about it.

All proceeds this year go to the Girl Scouts.
